Vintage Treasure in My Own Closet



Today while I was cleaning my closet I came across a dress that I totally forgot I even had.  In the spring when I moved, I must have just put it in a bag because it needed a little repairing and I never opened the bag till now!  It's a 1950's dress I found last winter at my favorite vintage shop.  The first thing I thought of when I pulled it out of it's sad home was a dress Jean Seberg wears is A Bout de Souffle.  All summer I searched, hoping to find a dress similar to the one in the film.  Little did I know that I had one similar enough tucked away in my closet. Though this dress isn't exactly like the dress Jean Seberg wears in A Bout de Souffle, it's close enough for me.  Sadly I have to wait until spring to wear it. :o(

    I had to giggle a bit over your comment about "rediscovering" this dress. I've been doing that a lot lately as I've been packing to move--it's amazing how many "buried treasures" there are hidden away! ;)

    it is a treasure! and you look awesome in it! she's so graceful in this movie! what's your other fav film of her? i need to watch more french films.

    I have a feeling when I move I too will rediscover quite a few items. Most of my vintage clothing is residing in a hand wash only pile that I haven't gotten to in...well..a really long time. I'm guessing I'm going to be really excited about finding my cute clothes again.

    Gosh your dress looks so similar to Jean's. Isn't it amazing when you rediscover something? It's a shame you have to wait till spring to wear it but it'll definitely be worth it!
