Tattered and Torn Beauty

I bought this pretty little dress off Ebay not long ago. Even though I knew that it needed work and had quite a bit of fading I couldn't resist it! It's from the late 1930's to early 1940's. I'm thinking it's homemade, due to the fact that it has no side zipper or buttons. I gotta tell ya this dress is not easy to put on at all because of that! Once it's on though it fits me perfectly! I have yet to clean it because I'm so afraid it'll shrink...so off to the dry cleaners it must go. I just had to share it with you first!

I hope all of you are well! I've been doing lots of sewing the past couple of weeks. In the next few days I'll have some pictures of the dress I just finished! Until then take care! :o)

And btw, your comment the other day about the possibility of your quirks scaring me away: not possible! i think your quirks are adorable and they make me all the more excited to meet you. i have a feeling we're going to be two silly girls when we finally do get together!

  8. so pretty! I imagine the bust area to be extremely flattering (sorry, I'm small busted and therefore obsess over this area). The color is dreamy too, although I really can not stand putting on/off slim fitting dresses without closures! I'm sure I'd have ripped it in half by now.

  12. It's lovely! I think that the best dresses are always a little flawed. It gives them character and makes me feel not so bad about wearing them.
