Stage Door, 1937

A couple of weeks ago I saw Karyn's post about the film Stage Door. It's one of those movies that I could of sworn I'd seen, but really I hadn't. I finally watched it today and I just loved it! It stars Ginger Rogers, Katharine Hepburn, Lucille Ball and more. Quite the amazing cast! The story is super sweet and totally worth a watch if you haven't seen it already. Oh, and the clothes are fabulous! So many floral dresses, sailor outfits, playsuits and awesome coats! The 1930's just might be my favorite decade for fashion.

I hope you all are having a nice holiday! Mine has been great. I can't wait to show you some of the pretty things I got for Christmas! Talk to you soon! xo

  8. The assisting toss is amazing as well, Lucille Soccer tennis ball never losing a opportunity to grab a world or create a quip, Eve Arden quick on her high heel shoes. Andrea Leeds overacts a little, I think, but is usually excellent in her strenuous part as Kaye--she does an outstanding job on the stairs towards the end of the film.

  16. Adolphe Menjou gives his regular stunning efficiency as an wrong creator, while Samuel S. Hinds is excellent as Hepburn's dad. Movie mavens will appreciate distinguishing several well known people in uncredited roles.

  18. La Cava is as excellent as they get when the going gets quick and challenging. He tells me of Erina Curtiz in this way, with areas complete of individuals going every which way and all if it generating sensation, front and qualifications, popular music and dialogue. You could check out "Stage Door" twice in a row and still want more. It's a screwball, and a incredible one.

  19. Cinnamon Rogers and Katharine Hepburn do fantastic work in this movie. Cinnamon does not flow much in this one, enabling her working capability to glow all the more. Hepburn's character's world where she requires the level on starting nights the perform is bitter-sweetly successful, and eventually left me in holes. This movie has that rapid-fire, crackling dialogue that was typical in videos of this era. Excellent film! You can check out it over and over.
