Hawaii 1940

1940s Sailor Dress: Bad Girl Vintage on Etsy
Purse: in my shop!
Shoes: Walmart of all places for $5

Most of you probably know that I have been searching for a 1940s sailor dress for quite a while. I'd always find one that I loved and it would be way too pricey or not the right size. I've even attempted to make one myself! So, the other day I was searching Etsy like many other days and saw this pretty little sailor dress that had just been listed. It was as cute as can be, from the 1940s and the right size! I didn't think twice before I clicked the purchase button! Yay! I now have a 1940s sailor dress. Yet another mission accomplished!

PS: I haven't forgotten about the second of the dresses Maria sent. I'm going to save that one for this weekend because it's gonna be 80 degrees!

Pretty Hair Inspirations

From Lena Hoschek's S/S 2010 collection

Marianne from Esme and the Lane Way

From Lena Hoschek's S/S 2010 collection

From Lena Hoschek's S/S 2010 collection

Now that I've finally gotten past the awful growing out stage of my short hair I've been thinking about how I can style it once it's a bit longer. I'm particularly drawn to these pretty vintage inspired dos. Yes, I just might have to put a flower in my hair soon! Anyway, these are the pictures that have kept me from running into the bathroom with a pair of scissors, hehe!

PS: All of these girls just happen to have on wonderful dresses too, don't ya think!? ;o)

Early 1950s Dress: Trade with Maria of AdelaideHomesewn
Shoes: Thrifted Bongo
Bag: Vintage

I am truly amazed at the amount of wonderful people I have met since starting this blog! Maria of Adelaide's Homesewn is one of those people. Maria and I have been chatting for several months now and hit it off right away. She is the one of the sweetest, kindest, funniest, classiest and stylish ladies out there! I haven't had the pleasure of meeting her in person yet, but once I move down south she'll only be a short drive away. When Maria asked me if I would be interested in doing a dress trade I of course said yes right away! We decided to send each other a dress from our collections that we didn't want to see go forever, but wanted to see each other enjoy for a little while. Maria surprised me by sending two dresses! The one I'm wearing here is the first I wanted to share. It's a lovely early 50s dress and I love it's pretty print and sweet details. I'll be taking pictures in the second dress this week! Be sure to go to Maria's blog and check out the dress I sent her!

Vinny and Vernelle

When Jessie Frances the creator of the stunning Etsy shop Venny and Vernelle asked me if I would like to model two of her creations for her shop I jumped at the chance! All the items Jessie Frances makes are hand crafted using one of a kind millinery flowers, fabrics and trims all from the late 1800's to mid 1900's. She calls her lovely creations Everyday Fancies. Here I'm wearing Neck Fancies. The red flounce on the first I'm wearing is from the 1920s! The navy and white one Jessie Frances made just for me and it couldn't be more perfect! These beauties will certainly add lots to anyones wardrobe! Be sure to check out Jessie's shop and blog!

Forever An Inspiration

The Notebook has got to be one of my favorite movies of all time. I've watched it too many times to count and I constantly go back to it for fashion inspiration. I'm sure most of you have seen the movie and these pictures, but I couldn't help but post them here. I think they're the most perfect spring fashion inspiration! If you haven't seen the movie, these pictures only show a tiny bit of the wonderful wardrobe, so you must check it out!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I'll talk to you super soon!

A Pretty Package

Today I received a very pretty package in the mail from 1385! I was so excited to open it that I couldn't wait to get home, so I took a picture of the adorable packaging with Jonny's cell phone. I thought I'd give you a sneak peek at what was inside! Some of you might be able to tell what it is, hehe. I'll be sure to have a post very soon of me romping around in this treasure ;o)
