Gingham & Daffodils

Vintage sunglasses, found at a flea market in Maryland
1950s gingham dress, going in my shop!
Vintage belt found in DE
Flats, Amazon

Hello! :o) This past weekend the weather was just gorgeous. Flowers are popping up everywhere! Spring like weather sure does come to the south a lot faster than I'm used to, but of course I love it. It's not all sunshine and flowers though.. Today is stormy and dreary, which I really don't mind. It only means more pretty flowers and brillant green grass! Talk to you soon!

The adorable dress I'm wearing is going to be going in my shop this week! If you can't wait until then and have any questions you can email me at qwestvintage@gmail.com

Bumblebee

Faux leather jacket, a Christmas present
1950's dress, borrowed from Victoria!
1960's bag, I've had forever
Shoes, Jessica Simpson thrifted

Hello lovelies! I want to thank you all so very much for the kind words the last few days about my friend Joe. I was able to attend his memorial service yesterday, so some healing happened there. Things are still tough, but I'm feeling much better. It's crazy how fast life can change. It was just a week ago today I talked to Joe on the phone to wish him a happy birthday. I'm so happy I was able to hear him laugh that one last time.

These pictures were take last Sunday afternoon. It was a gorgeous day with highs in the 70s with a delightful breeze! The 50s dress I'm wearing is borrowed from sweet Victoria. I'm so happy she sent it, because for some reason I've been afraid to wear yellow. I've passed up so many pretty yellow dresses thinking they would look terrible with my skin. I really like it though! Now I need more yellow in my wardrobe ;o) So, thank you Victoria!

This week I'll be skipping inspiration Friday and just leaving you with these pictures. I hope you all have a great weekend! xo

A Dear Friend Lost

On Saturday I lost a dear friend, Joe Shanks. I've known Joe since I was a little girl, he was like a Grandpa to me. Joe was one of the sweetest men I have ever know. I'm so blessed to have been a part of his life.
I'm going to take a break from blogging for just a few days. xo

I'm back! Sorry for the lack of posts this week! I've been so busy working, catching up with friends and enjoying the springlike weather we've been having. I promise to be better next week! :O)
This week for inspiration Friday vintage magazine covers. I'd like those red shorts above and the two dresses below, please?! I think I must start collecting more vintage magazines when I'm out and about.

Inspiration Friday, Things I'd Like To Be Doing

This weeks inspiration Friday shows perfectly what I'd love to being doing right this minute! Climbing trees, swinging in a pretty dress...

Taking a boat ride in a pair of perfect sailor shorts and wearing some fabulous sunglasses.

Sitting barefoot by a lake with no cares in the world...

Wearing a lovely dress of cotton with a super full skirt!

Lounging in the sun with a gal pal, in a vintage bathing suit of course.

Taking that bathing suit to the beach!

Some photos were found on Lynne's Len's, others can be found on my tumblr with links to their sources

Or just hanging about with some flowers in my hair.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Shop Update, Spring Fever

&

I've added some pretty new things to the shop, all of which would be perfect for spring. I know spring is still a couple months away, but I can't get my mind of warm days, flowers and sundresses! Nashville is far from looking like spring today though, after a couple inches of snow decided to fall yesterday. Things are looking up though because all next week the weather is going to be in the upper 50's to 60's! Yay!
...And since this past week has been so chilly and I've was sick I've been watching lots of cheesy old beach movies. So, to go along with this shop updates title I bring you a little cheesy Spring Fever tune! Talk to you lovelies tomorrow! :o)

She's A Rebel

Faux leather jacket, a Christmas present
1950s circle skirt
Vintage beaded evening bag, a gift from my friend Sara.
Tights, Target
Shoes, thrifted Steven Madden

...Not really. I'm sure most people that know me would laugh at the idea of me being a rebel, haha! Though, this jacket kinda makes me feel like one. :o) I love it paired with girly dresses and skirts!

Anyway, these pictures are from a few weeks back when I did a guest post on Casey's blog. Today, I'm feeling a bit under the weather so I thought it'd be a good time to share them. I hope you all had a great weekend!

Inspiration Friday, Debra Paget

This week for inspiration Friday I decided to feature the lovely Debra Paget. Debra Paget was actress and entertainer who became popular in the 1950s. I have to admit the only film I've seen her in is Love Me Tender, with of Elvis of course. I do know that Elvis had quite the crush on her, and who can blame him! Anyway, I can across some pictures of her on tumblr and thought she was just a doll. After some searching I found more and more amazing pictures of her from the late 1940's to 1950's. Her style was just perfect! I hope you find these as inspiring as I do.

A Day In The Life Of Patsy Cline, The Cat

When I saw this adorable post from Esme and the Lane Way of her pretty Babycat I knew I wanted to take some pictures of my cat Patsy Cline. Patsy always seems to being doing one cute thing or another, but of course when the camera was on her she was nice and composed, as a model should be I suppose. I did wake her up from her nap after all, hehe. Here she is in one of her favorite spots at the end of our sofa.

Being shy!

I love her whiskers!

Then a little trip to the window to see what's happening outside.
Patsy is the sweetest little kitty! I grew up with dogs, so I treat Pasty like she is one, poor thing. She loves it though! ;o)
