An Evening on the Beach

These past few days Jonny and I have been dog/house sitting for my Aunt and Uncle. Their home is right on the water, so in these pictures I'm right in their backyard. Not a bad place to be on a beautiful weekend! This is what I wore yesterday out to lunch at the most delicious Mediterranean restaurant. After lunch we took a stroll around town looking in outlet stores. Not really my thing, but I did find a cute yellow sailor style skirt for only $10 at Banana Republic. Today was so lovely that I just sat in the sun, thrilled that I could finally wear a pair of 1940's sun shorts that I bought months ago. I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend!

My Nanny in the 1940's

Happy Wednesday! These are just some of the pictures of my Nanny when she was a teenager back in the early 1940's. You can't tell from these photo's, of course, but my Nanny had the most wonderful red hair and a face full of freckles! One of my favorite pictures is still yet to come!

Also, I can now say that I am truly obsessed with Little Edie of Grey Gardens. I'm lucky enough to have HBO on demand so I've already watched the new Grey Gardens film with Drew Barrymore FIVE times...lol. I can't get enough! My adorable hubby even sits and watches bit's with me and always leaves saying, "This is great! I have to watch the documentary again!" I love him! Have a great day everyone! :o)

I'm back :o)

Hello again! I hope everyone has had a great week! My road trip was fantastic! So much so that I'm sad to be home.  This picture is of me with my Papa (Grandpa) when I was five or six.  I love that I am wearing a sailor shirt and have basically the same haircut I do now...lol.  I have so many pictures that I can't wait to share with you, including some fabulous pictures of my Nanny (Grandma) when she was a teenager in the 1940's!  It was so wonderful to go through her old photo albums.  She's been gone for eight years now, but I still get very emotional when I'm around her things.  I'm still so tired from all the driving we've been doing so this is all for now.  Time to get in my pajamas and get ready to watch Grey Gardens! I'm so excited!!! :o)

My Hair!

Here's my new hair! Mind you this is after a day of errands, packing for my Easter road trip and the wind blowing at 30 mph. So needless to say my hair has had a wild day...haha. Also, I want to let you all know that I won't be posting for about a week because of that road trip I've been preparing for all day. Tomorrow at 5am Jonny and I are heading to North Carolina to spend Easter with my Grandpa. Then we'll be heading to Maryland to see the rest of my family. I plan on taking lots of pictures so I'll be posting those when I get back. I hope you all have a wonderful week and a Happy Easter!! :o)

Sunshine Day!

Bonjour everyone! These pictures are from Sunday when my hubby and I went for a walk to the beach. It was such a fabulous spring day! In the sun I could almost get away with not wearing my sweater. The past two days have been cold and rainy though...thats April for ya. Also, thank you all so much for your lovely comments on my last post! I want you to know how much all of your comments mean to me. Every single one puts a smile on my face! :o)

PS: In about an hour I'm heading to get my haircut into a Louise Brooks-Agnes Deyn bob! Pictures of that soon :o)

PSS: I just finished watching An American in Paris...I can't get enough of that movie, or Gene Kelly for that matter.

PSSS: I just had to let you know that I just got back from my haircut and I LOVEEEEE it!!!! It's just like Louise Brooks...hehe! I'll show you soon! Oh yes, and my new hair stylist is French! He's awesome!

The War Bride

I've been watching quite a few movies lately. I've been a little under the weather so watching movies helps. Even though when I'm perfectly healthy I watch lots of movies too...haha! The other day I watched The War Bride, a film from 2001. It takes place during WWII and is about an English woman who marries a Canadian soldier. She ends up moving to Canada to live with her new soldier hubby's family. Not only is this a great movie but it stars the ADORABLE Anna Friel, otherwise know as Chuck from Pushing Daisies. There's also a lovely parade of 1940's floral dresses. I'm actually tempted to watch this again today!

I hope everyone is having a good week and maybe some of you are having some lovely spring weather! :o)
