Tattered and Torn Beauty

I bought this pretty little dress off Ebay not long ago. Even though I knew that it needed work and had quite a bit of fading I couldn't resist it! It's from the late 1930's to early 1940's. I'm thinking it's homemade, due to the fact that it has no side zipper or buttons. I gotta tell ya this dress is not easy to put on at all because of that! Once it's on though it fits me perfectly! I have yet to clean it because I'm so afraid it'll shrink...so off to the dry cleaners it must go. I just had to share it with you first!

I hope all of you are well! I've been doing lots of sewing the past couple of weeks. In the next few days I'll have some pictures of the dress I just finished! Until then take care! :o)

look at the detail on those sleeves, my goodness! i don't think i could've let it go either.

And btw, your comment the other day about the possibility of your quirks scaring me away: not possible! i think your quirks are adorable and they make me all the more excited to meet you. i have a feeling we're going to be two silly girls when we finally do get together!

so pretty! I imagine the bust area to be extremely flattering (sorry, I'm small busted and therefore obsess over this area). The color is dreamy too, although I really can not stand putting on/off slim fitting dresses without closures! I'm sure I'd have ripped it in half by now.

It's lovely! I think that the best dresses are always a little flawed. It gives them character and makes me feel not so bad about wearing them.

Gorgeous. I'm always hesitant to buy dresses off eBay in fear that it won't fit. I'm glad this one fits you perfectly :)
