A Weekend Getaway

Hello lovelies! This past weekend Jonny and I made a trip to Memphis to visit Graceland for Elvis' 76th Birthday Celebration! It's something I've wanted to do forever and Jonny surprised me with this trip on Christmas. As many times as I've visited Graceland I've never been there to see the Christmas decorations, so that was also a real treat. We were able to tour the home at night on the eve of Elvis' birthday!

The monkey was wearing a Christmas hat, lol!

Elvis shoes from the 50's. I want!

Touring Graceland in the evening was spectacular!

Here I am with George Klein, one of Elvis's best friends! He DJs a radio show every Friday at Graceland.

Being that is was Elvis' birthday there were some of Elvis' costars there signing autographs! Jennifer Holden was in Jailhouse Rock with Elvis. She's still so gorgeous!

Julie Adams starred in Tickle Me with Elvis! She also was in Creature from the Black Lagoon in 1954 as well as lots of other films and television.

On my left is Larry Domasin who starred in Fun in Acapulco with Elvis when he was just a little boy! On my right is Jim Murray who was a member of The Imperials and preformed with Elvis in the late 60's through the early 70's. It was so amazing to meet so many great people who knew Elvis!

So much more happened in those two days it almost seems like a dream! So I'll leave you with this for now. I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

I love Graceland! I went to college in So. IL so my friends and I used to make the trip to Memphis at least once a year to visit Graceland. I've never been at Christmas time, so I'll have to put that on my list for future visits. Have you ever been to Elvis Week? It's in August around the anniversary of his death. Now that was an incredible event. Truly something to attend if you are an Elvis fan. Also, I don't know if it's still there but have you been to Graceland 2 in Holly Springs, MS? It's a fan house run by some truly die hard Elvis fans.

My mom used to love The Imperials. . .granted she also has always been in love with Elvis too (but not to the point where she cried over him or anything like that).
Looks like you had a really really amazing time meeting people and such. Is Elvis' best friend the same guy that you were on the radio show with? Did he recognize you with your dark hair?
Lovely lovely!
