Ever since I saw Shirley Temple in Captain January when I was little my favorite kind of trousers have been high-waisted, wide-legged and sailor style! As far I'm concerned trousers from the 1930's are as good as it gets. So, when I discovered the tumblr blog Giant Pants of the 30's I was in love! Here are some crazy fabulous ladies rocking their trousers in the 1930's...
You can find many more of these fabulous pics here.
Have a wonderful weekend lovelies! :O)

Yummy! Can't wait to see your new pants!
Oh my oh my, HOW can we get the low rise generation to see these photos? Those are amazing and sexy but classy. Love them.
My favorite pants. I asked my husband if he still had his Navy jeans from the late 80's. They were stolen from his locker...if only. Wonderful inspiration. Will look for your post wearing your new ones. dawn suitcase vignetttes xo
Haha, what perfect timing! I just put a zipper in my 1933 trousers, after making them, oh two years ago?
:/
Now I can wear them without flashing my knickers ;)
I feel like most everyone could look good in these, they show off the waist, make your legs look miles long, and and don't make hipy gals like me resemble pears like skinny jeans do. Ugh. So done with that.
Anyway, thanks for posting these, they're such great pics!
xoxo

You gotta LOVE those details! Turned out pockets, sailor buttons, geometric applique!!!! Love this!
Look at all of those babes in all of those fancy pants! I'm especially loving the first pic with the knotted tops and open back blouse with suspenders. Modern girls think they have fun with fashion, but something tells me we're missing out on a lot!
I just love 1930s trousers, so that Tumblr sounds absolutely perfect!

These are so fabulous, I adore 1930s style (and it is so much more wearable than flapper dress which lack waist definition)!

Oh yes, these are my favorite types of pants as well!! I actually hate wearing pants (I'm a skirts/dresses kinda gal) but I make an exception for glamorous slacks like these :)
oh i love love love love this fotos, women were so stylish those days and especially this sailor pants with the buttons are gorgous, although i can´t wear them without looking 100 pounds heavier but i i love how they fit these girls;)

Oh my god!
It's so lovely. Thank you for this post.
Some of the pictures reminds more of 1970s era but the pants on the pictures are much more elegant than 1970s (or 1980s) pants.
Very inspiring!
love these. such a great shape. THIS is why i hate skinny jeans!
<3 mode.

Pretty dreamy! I love my uncle's Navy sailor pants, perfect for winter. And actually, I saw a woman's sailor suit yesterday, thought of you! Hope you're well. xoxo
Myrna Loy in polka dot pants? Dreamy!
These ladies look fabulous, but I don't think I could pull off so much pant fabric. Still, I love 1930s style, especially the slinky dresses and hair.
My favourite style of trousers too! Lovely pictures x
Such fantastic photos! Gorgeous trousers too, so flattering - and the detail! Just lovely.
Love the high waisted pants. Not like todays fashion where you bend and show your arse crack! Yeuck!!!

Loving this post, thank you so much for the inspirational photos! I agree, it seems like the gals in the 30s had the fun and creative vibe nailed with their clothes, so much joie de vivre comes through these pictures. I have been making several different kinds of 30s trousers for my customers lately, so much fun!!
