Menswear, Then & Now

This fall more than ever I have been drawn to menswear fashions. I have suddenly accumulated four pairs of suspenders, a couple pair of high waisted tweed trousers and lots of button up blouses. I've also been borrowing Jonny's ties, hehe. I still need to find myself a great pair of oxfords and a blazer though... Anyway, I found these wonderful images of ladies back in the day and now sporting trousers, ties, blazers and suspenders and I knew I needed to share them with you. Most of these images can be found on my tumblr.

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! Mine was packed with fun! More on that later.

Gah! I love these... Oh Katherine and Janelle... Love this look which is awesome for us girls with hips and a teeny waist... I can't wait till it's cold out and I can get out my grandpa's Navy pants, thanks gpa for being my size, haha!

Thanks for the inspiration!

I have been really drawn to menswear recently, I just bought three pairs of suspenders, and have been wearing a lot of tweed jackets of late!

I have recently been liking the menswear look also. I'm sitting here in high waisted trousers and on the top of my shopping list is brogues!

I like it mixed with girlie items the most though, eg. trousers with heels, brogues with dresses etc

Lovely pictures!

The pic with the pink blouse-tie-beret is awesome so beautiful (guess the beauty of the model helps a little bit too ...)

Women are slightly more open to experimental so than men. There is much more freedom to play with silhouettes of fabrics, cuts and even. There are only so many places you can take a collection for men before it gets too out of reach of consumers.

I am also very drawn to menswear, although I can't pull off wide trousers ever ever ever. I love the first picture b/c my favorite elements of menswear are jackets (especially smoking and tuxedo) and cardigans. very very cosy for some reason.

Good post. I learn one thing more challenging on different blogs every day. It is going to at all times be stimulating to read content material from other writers and follow just a little one thing from their store. I’d favor to use some with the content material on my blog if you don’t mind. I’ll give you a link on your blog. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome outfits...this is where I say old fashions revolve. The way nature revolved fashion too. Old fashion statements are reviving and these are coming again in life.
